Part I

The Union and its Territory

The part has 4 articles from Art 1 to Art 4. Article 1 states - India, that is Bharat, shall be a Union of States.

Part II

Citizenship

The part has 7 articles from Art 5 to Art 11. Article 9 states - Persons voluntarily acquiring citizenship of a foreign State not to be citizens.

Part III

Fundamental Rights

The part has 27 articles from Art 12 to Art 35 (including Article 21A, 31A, 31B, 31C. Omitted article 31 and 31D.)

Part IV

Directive Principles

The part has 20 articles from Art 36 to Art 51 (inlcuding 39A, 43A, 43B and 48A).

Part IVA

Fundamental Duties

The part has just 1 article i.e. Article 51A which lists 11 fundamental duties. This part was introduced by the 42nd Amendment Act, 1976.

Part V

The Union

The part has 105 articles from Art 52 to Art 151 (including 124A, 124B, 124C, 134A, 139A) and 5 chapters.

Part VI

The States

The part has 88 articles from Art 152 to Art 237 (including 224A and 233A) and 6 chapters.

The States in Part B of the First Schedule

The part had only 1 article namely 238 and was repealed by the Consitution (Seventh Amendment) Act, 1956.

Part VIII

The Union Territories

The part has 7 articles from Art 239 to 242 (including 239A, 239AA, 239AB, 239B. Art 242 has been omitted by the 7th Amendment, 1956)

The Panchayats

The part has 16 articles namely 243 and from 243A to 243O. This part was introduced by the Constitution (Seventy Third) Amendment Act, 1993.

The Muncipalities

The part has 19 articles numbered from 243O to 243ZG. This part was introduced by the Constitution (Seventy Fourth) Amendment Act, 1993.

Part IXB

The Co-operative Societies

The part has 14 articles numbered from 243ZH to 243ZT. This part was introduced by the Constitution (Ninety Seventh) Amendment Act, 2011.

Part X

The Scheduled and Tribal Areas

The part has 2 articles numbered from 244 to 244A. This part was introduced by the Constitution (Ninety Seventh) Amendment Act, 2011.

Part XI

Relations between the Union and the States

The part had 20 articles numbered from 245 to 263 (including 246A, 258A and Article 259 omitted by the 7th Amendment, 1956).

Part XII

Finance, Property, Contracts and Suits

The part has 37 articles numbered from 264 to 300 (including 269A, 279A, 300A. Articles 272, 278 & 291 were omitted by 80th, 7th & 26th Amendments resp.

Trade, Commerce and Intercourse within the Territory of India

The part has 7 articles numbered from 301 to 307.
